He hung out with a Ragamuffin Park Fiend

He walked down to the park from Union Square. He interviewed Bruce Bochy. He also spoke to his buddy, Charlie who he's known since he was 10 years old. Charlie was a member of the Ragamuffin Park Fiends(?).

He ate several times.

He analyzed it properly and walked on the left side of the street where there's shade.

He stayed in bed... mostly

He woke up at 5 o'clock. He looked outside, saw it would be 1050, went back inside and stayed in bed. A little while later, he got up. He got some coffee. He got the paper. He came back inside and stayed in bed again.

Later, he went to check a few things out at Borders. There wasn't much to do, but here's a marvelous shopping mall if you're in the mood to do some shopping.

For lunch he had a turkey sandwich with lettuce and tomato on wheat bread.

He bought some Q-Tips

He woke up at 5 o'clock. He went to Frye's (supermarket in Arizona). He bought an apple, some yogurt, "those things for your ears" and cough drops. You can't always find Q-Tips in hotels to keep your ears clean.

He came back to the hotel and there he was. It was 6 o'clock. He decided to go to "Starplace" for coffee. The other day, he showed up too early. Starbucks opens at 6 o'clock and he showed up at ten till.

He was supposed to meet a friend, but missed his friend because he went to the park and his friend thought they were meeting at the hotel.

He had a confrontation with Gus

He had a confrontation with his dog this morning.

At about 4:13 am, Gus had to go to the bathroom. Gus put his nose in Jerry's nose, That's the signal that Gus has to go to the bathroom. He won't go until Jerry walks him out. He looks at Jerry until they go out together, which they did. He said, "OK, Gus. You can go for it." It takes Gus a while. You have to coddle him a little bit. Gus is a big, spoiled, German Shepherd.

After Gus was done with his excursion, Jerry had to go to the store (Vons) which stays open all night. He got in his Budget Car Sales car ("of course") and put Gus in the back. They went down to the "supermarket, or whatever they call those things that sell food", passing San Diego National Bank. He realized that what he wanted wasn't there. It was now 5 o'clock in the morning. It was discouraging to realize that what he wanted wasn't there. So he came back and he went to bed.

He wanted a certain kind of an orange and since they didn't have it, he went home and pouted. Gus didn't want to go back, but Jerry told Gus, "You're done, pal."

He walked with kids with cancer

He went to Seaport Village and walked with the kids with cancer. He was there with several Padres players and coaches including Trevor Hoffman, Mark Loretta, Ryan Klesko, Woody Williams and Rob Picciolo. Susie, Michelle and several other girls from the front office were there as well. He was amazed at how popular Trevor is and at how many people mobbed him. Jerry was ticked off at that as he had figured it would be him getting all the attention. He showed up at 8 o'clock and the event didn't start until 10 o'clock. Getting there early was "overkill".

He went to the wrong place for dinner

The San Diego Press Club held a dinner honoring him. He thought the dinner was being held at the Aerospace Museum so he went there. The dinner was actually held at the Kona Kai Club on Harbor Island. Ted figured it was "close enough" as both are in San Diego. Jerry figured they were close enough as "one's by the water. One's by something. I dunno."

As related on the 5/14 broadcast.
